Warning; Phising Scam
We have been informed that there is currently a phishing scam targeting Financial Institutions and Credit Union in particular.
People who have been targeted will receive an email or text message from an address or phone number that seems legitimate.
Some of the reported emails and texts refer to the recent COVID-19 Outbreak.
The email asks recipients to click on a link to update their network credentials or that they must change their password. These are just 2 examples.
Please note this is a phishing scam. For anyone in receipt of this email, it should be deleted immediately.
Many of these scams are designed to infiltrate members’ computers, monitoring their online interactions and recording personal details with a view to gaining access to personal financial accounts.
Please remember The Lough Credit Union Credit Union never asks members to provide their Online Banking or CuAnywhere App login details through email.
In addition, The Lough Credit Union will never disclose your account details or personal details via email.
- Do not click on a link or open any attachments on suspicious emails.
- Do not reply to the email from within the email received.
- The Lough Credit Union will never ask you to provide personal details via email.
