Job Title: Loans Officer
Reporting to the CEO
Summary of Role:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced lending officer to join our team who work hard to support the financial needs of our members in the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be required to :
- Develop the lending function, ensuring continued first-class service to members in compliance with the Credit Union’s Credit Policy and Procedure Notes.
- Assess members’ applications for loans in adherence with the Credit Union’s lending policy and procedures and in accordance with responsible lending practices.
- Contribute to the smooth operation of the credit union by undertaking related administrative and organisational tasks.
- Preparing reports for the credit committee and the board
- Meet with the credit committee on a regular basis
- Assist in growing the CU’s lending levels in a manner which is consistent with the credit unions strategic and risk management objectives.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of appropriate credit policies, systems, procedures and practices.
- Ensure the continued overall quality of the loan portfolio including assessing its risk profile and driving improvements by way of mitigating strategies at operational level.
- Any other additional duties that may be required
The successful candidate should :
- Have a minimum of 2 years financial service experience
- Hold a professional relevant qualification to the role such as a QFA or APA in loans.
- Be good in dealing with people as this will also be a face to face role in meeting people and discussing their financial needs in relation to loans.
- Be familiar with the ethos and practices of the credit union movement.
- Some experience of compliance standards of the credit union sector would be beneficial
- Have excellent both written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrate strong I.T. and interpersonal skills.
- Be capable of reviewing processes and procedures and designing improvements to them
- Be flexible, adaptable and a team player, ready to join a highly efficient team that prides itself on consistently delivering the highest standards of service to our members.
The position is full time and permanent; a competitive remuneration package will apply.
Occasional work outside normal hours will be required from time to time.
